Revlon's Nearly Naked Foundation & Powder

Revlon's Nearly Naked Foundation and Powder

A couple weeks ago I was able to purchase the foundation and powder set from Revlon.  I had been using Cover Girl for most of my life and was quite afraid to try new products.  This product in particular is not my first Revlon product but I was really excited about this and wanted to review this one first.

The liquid foundations consistency is pretty similar to all the rest of the liquid foundations out there.  I didn't find it too liquidy or too thick. The coverage seemed pretty good overall.  This item is "nearly naked" and for someone like me where my skin has a tendency to break out often, it was okay.  If I had the skin that I did as a teenager, this would've been Perfect.  On my days where my skin isn't having issues, this is my go to foundation.  I love the way it looks and feels.  It doesn't feel cakey or thick.  It actually feels very light (in my opinion).

Price was very decently priced.  I purchased my Revlon Nearly Naked foundation and powder from Walgreen's and it was "under" $10/each.  In my eyes, this was a decent price as most of Revlon's products are a bit on the higher end than most.

My rating for this 1 out of 5 stars, I would give it a 4.5.  I didn't give it a perfect 5 because unless I'm jumping for joy then I won't give it 5 stars.  I like it a lot and will go to it often but not quite completely sold yet.

I believe that this is a very well made product and is worth the buy for its price.

Créme Brulee Lipstick by Revlon

It's been years since I've worn lipstick due to allergic reactions. Just recently I decided to try lipstick again and so far so good. I do have to wear carmax chapstick first before applying on the lipstick but I at least am able to wear them now. I am quite picky of what lipstick I wear and what brand but Revlon seems to be the one that I've fallen for. I love all the Revlon products because they don't have this over powering smell to them and so far have worked well with my skin.
I've been wanting to try out nude lipsticks for awhile now and well this Créme Brulee lipstick by Revlon is awesome. It glides on smoothly and gives that lip glossed look which I love.
If you are looking for some good drugstore lipsticks, choose Revlon. Revlon is a little bit more on the expensive side but worth it. I recently changed over some products from CoverGirl to Revlon and love it thus far.

Ebay Samsung Galaxy Note II Case

So last Wednesday or Tuesday I ordered a case for my new phone via Ebay because of how cute the case was. I ordered an Owl Case that was just to cute to pass by. The case was relatively cheap coming in at $6.95. I had put this item as "will buy" a week prior to actually purchasing it. Good thing that I did as the price went up to $7 and some change. It's not much of a difference but if you can get something at a lower price, why not lock it in.

Well today I received the item. The shipping from this person I purchased it from stated in the ad that it should be received by Jan 14th and well it was received 2 days early so I'm quite happy about that.  Now for the bad.

I've bought plenty of cases online and mainly via Ebay before, in fact I bought one from a different person just three weeks prior to this one and it came as it was listed. I will have a review on that later. Going back to the Owl case I just received. It stated in the ad that it was "New". Well when I received the item it was in what looks like the original package. As I continued to open and analyze the item (which I didn't have to look to closely to notice) I realized that there were these "soap" spots on the inside. As I looked further it was the whole inside of the case that looked like it had been washed. If this item is "new" like it was described,  there shouldn't be any "soap" spots. Furthermore the outside of the case with the owl print also had black spots and when touched it felt like stuff was stuck to it. It did fall off as I used my finger/nails to remove it. That was a bit nasty to not know what I had just picked off my case. All in all, this item will suffice for what was paid but completely disappointed that it was advertised as "new" as it clearly was not. Before using it I did have to clean it just for my sanitary sanity. Will I order from this particular company/person again, No.

Covergirl & Olay Tone Rehab 2-in-1 Foundation Base

On January 10, 2013 I decided to finally try out the New Covergirl & Olay Tone Rehab 2-in-1 Foundation Base. My thoughts on this is that it did an overall good coverage but I really dislike the sweet smell that it comes with.

Pros:
- Good coverage
- Fairly priced

Cons:
- Has a very obvious strong sweet smell (perfumey)
- Coverage doesn't last all day

If you're not bothered by perfumey sweet smells, this Covergirl & Olay Tone Rehab 2-in-1 Foundation Base may be good for you. I did notice that when you first apply the foundation it looks a lot lighter than the color that it really is but does change to what it says. I also noticed that my face became very oily rather quickly. I did use another Covergirl Powder on top but that only helped for a little bit.

My overall thoughts on this product is not good. 1 out of 10 with 10 being the best, I would give this product a 4. I can't stand the strong sweet smell and with my face getting that oily that quick, not a fan. This may work for someone who may have dry skin but if your face is just slightly oily, I wouldn't recommend it. I honestly will probably never use this Covergirl & Olay Tone Rehab 2-in-1 Foundation Base again.

Polaroid Pogo

I'm a little late with the review of this Polaroid Pogo but I just thought this was the neatest little printer that I've seen.  I have not purchased one yet but I wanted to just put it out there because I thought it was really neat.  I will probably end up getting one sooner than later but for right now I've just been reading about it and just wanted to share.  I'm actually still reading about it to make sure that I even want to purchase it.

Polaroid Pogo Photo Paper Slot

So far after reading a couple blogs and researching it does have its pros and cons. Below I'll list what I have found thus far.

Pros:
-  It's small
-  No Ink Needed
-  Has a sticky backing so you can use it like a sticker photo for crafting (if you like that)
-  Has a Lithium Ion battery
-  Works great with Android phones, no app required
-  Prints via Bluetooth
Cons:
-  Only holds 10 sheets of photo paper at a time
-  From phone (or device) to Polaroid printer, takes a minute or so to print
-  Photo quality is not as advertised (per research)
-  iPhone users must jailbreak to use and then download app
*Jailbroken iPhones will need to download the Celeste app from Cydia.
*Jailbreaking iPhones are NOT illegal in the US (for now)

My overall feel about this product is that from what I read its an okay product.  It's great to use if you travel alot and love to do photo journalism.  I do plan on getting one to try it out and will update this blog when I do so.  Otherwise feel free to leave comments on what you think if you have one or not.  Thank you for reading!

NEW Simple Face Cleansing Products

NEW! SIMPLE Face Cleansing Products

I recently took a trip to WalGreens looking for makeup and what not and while in the store realized that I wanted/needed some sort of facial cleanse regime.  As I walked over to the stores variety of cleansing products I started to get overwhelmed.  I spent a good hour and a half walking back and forth.  I had an employee walk up and ask me if I needed help but when I asked her about the New Simple Cleansing Products she told me she had no clue.  All she could tell me was that it was New and that they normally receive sample products so that they could give customers the best reviews on them from personal experiences, but of course she stated that they hadn't received any so she had no clue.  Well as I continued to read the back of each product I realized that I kept walking back to the New Simple Cleansing products.  I love the fact that they are hypoallergenic and there are no harsh dyes or perfumes in them.  I often get turned off by the strong smells of certain cleansing products.  I figured this seems as natural as it can get and not to lie, the packaging really made me feel like the product was "refreshing" so I took a gamble by buying a couple of Simple's products.

Below you will find some pictures and MY personal reviews on this product after using it for over a week.

NEW Simple Exfoliating Wipes
The Simple's Exfoliating wipes are good. They are textured a bit so that it does what it says.

Smell:  There is a slight smell to the wipes but nothing comparable to some others that are out there, its more of a refreshing smell (to me).

Price:  The price for these products are quite reasonable.  I recommend doing a price match before purchasing.  After I bought these items I realized that I could get it cheaper at Wal-Mart.  So far the stores that I've price matched were WalGreens, WalMart, CVS and Target.  They all seem to be around the same price but may differ by up to $1.00 (depending on where you live).  I'll have the prices that I've found listed below.

Texture:  There is a slight texture to the wipes but being that it is for Exfoliating, it works great.
Cost:  $6.49 (Walgreens), $4.97 (Walmart), $4.99 (Target)
(These prices may not be accurate, but merely a range for you to go by)

Simple Cleansing Wipes

The Simple Cleansing Wipes to me work really good.  The wipes are good for traveling or if you don't have much time to lean over a sink and wash your face every night.  I prefer the wipes because its just easier.  I think they do the same thing as the liquid version.

Smell: I haven't noticed a smell with the cleansing wipes.  There may be a hint but to me it just smells clean, hence "cleansing wipes".  Otherwise, no harsh perfume or dye or any of that other harsh chemical.

Texture:  The cleansing wipe really doesn't have as much texture to it like the exfoliating wipes do.  To me the cleansing wipes are really soft and I love the way it feels.  It's like taking a soft cotton cloth and washing your face, LOVE IT!

Cost:  $6.49 (Walgreens), $4.99 (Target), $4.97 (WalMart)

Simple Soothing Facial Toner
The Simple Soothing Facial Toner is exactly what it says in the name, Soothing.  I love using the toner after cleaning and exfoliating because it just gives you that overall soothing feeling.  This is actually my first time using a toner and I really like it!  I actually spoke to my husband about whether there was a noticeable change yet and he said that he does see a slight tightening of my skin.  Not sure if he's saying because he's my husband but it was nice to know that a change was happening for the good.  I will continue to use!!  Well worth it!
Smell:  All these products have a slight smell to them but as I said above, to me its become more of a "clean" smell than anything else.  No harsh perfumes so you don't have to worry about opening them and getting this overwhelming smell.  The smell is tolerable and way better than any other i've come across.

Simple Eye Make-Up Remover
The Simple Eye Make-up Remover seems to be an okay product.  I haven't really worn much makeup lately but when I did try using the eye make-up remover it didn't seem to work really well.  I even waited until after I used the cleansing wipe to see if it would help, but to my dismay it did not.  I did notice that it took a little bit off but I still looked like I had racoon eyes.  Like I mentioned, I only used this once with no results so since I love the other products so much I will continue to try this eye make-up remover and see if my thoughts on this one product changes.
